According to the grid Warner Bros is moving along with the Contagion 2 movie (nice movie
btw) and the new domain names confirm that Warner Bros is working on the sequel.
Contagion 2 is in the works with an OWA out from Warner Bros. Scott Z. Burns, who wrote the screenplay for the original film, will be producing this time around. It is not yet known whether Steven Soderbergh will return to direct. Contagion was released on September 9th, 2011 and grossed $135 million worldwide.
Warner Bros registered not only the contagion 2 .com domain names but also a few more. Below is the list of what WB regged themselfs yesterday.
contagion2.com
contagion2movie.com
contagionpart2.com
el-presidente-movie.com
elpresidente-movie.com
elpresidente-themovie.com
elpresidentemovie.com
massugar.com
I must admit i was rather suprised to see no one registered contagion2.com prior to Warner Brothers. I was expecting someone had registered it with dreams selling it to WB
Logitech working on it’s own music service ?
Hard to tell actually. Samsung is making some moves into that direction with Samsung
Logitech's North American office in Fremont. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Music Hub, a subscription based music service that enables consumers to access over 3 million music and media tracks.
Logitech does not have a such a service yet. Sure Logitech has speakers and ofcourse the squeezebox to listen to radio but not a music service.
However that might change and the keyword here is might.
The last week i noticed some domain registrations that might indicate that Logitech is working on something.
First there is this registration : logitechmusic.com

The registration itself couldbe purely defensive and we shouldn’t think to much of it.
But then there’s also this domain name : logitechradio.com
This domain name had been registered by someone else and was transfered earlier this month to Logitech.
I could not find any UDRP cases for this domain name so two things could have happend here.
1 Logitech legal department send an email to the previous owner with the message handover the domain or die. Though Logitech prolly didn’t put it as blunt as that.
2 Logitech bought the domain name.
It could be pure coincidence that this just went down in the same month and it could mean nothing at all, but then again… Logitch and a music service, it would make alot of sense to me.
My best guess is that the domain name registrations are part of a social media strategy. And make no mistake about it, HBO been super succesfull using social media for their smash hit tv show Game of Thrones.
@GameOfThrones is about to break 300,000 followers, Game of Throne’s Facebook Timeline has over 2,380,000 likes and almost 1 million people have checked-in to the show on GetGlue. This fan base is nurtured and grown carefully by HBO’s social media team on a year-round basis.
Lost Remote: What’s Game of Throne’s social tv strategy for the new season?
Sabrina Caluori: Inspire fans to share their passion for Game of Thrones via their social graph by providing compelling content, intriguing calls to action and a full suite of tools on a wide variety of platforms. Reward the most active fans with special recognition from official RT’s, Likes and Reblogs to special “swag” giveaways and even inclusion in promo spots on the network.
More info about this strategy can be located here.
So with the above in mind, we can conclude (more or less that the domain names willbe used for more social media regarding Game of Thrones and not a new game. Though you can never be sure of anything when it comes to this franchise.
If you haven’t watched Game of Thones yet, and you did like the Lord of the Rings movies then you might want to watch it. Though season 1 takes off pretty slow.

Back in January 8 i posted about the fact that Blizzard registered the domain name
blizzardallstars.com wich is related to their DOTA game. That post was original posted here. Back then the domain name was not resolving so there was some speculation if Blizzard was behind it or not. Today the domain name resolves to battle.net.
Yesterday Blizzard registered a few more domain names related to their DOTA project.
blizzallstars.com
blizzard-all-stars.com
The newest registrations are not resolving but this time the domain names show blizzard as the registrant.

I assume the names are purely defensive. Though i wouldn’t be suprised to see more information from Blizzard about the DOTA/All stars project announced very soon.
The organization that oversees the Internet’s naming system has apologized to domain
Rod Beckstrom, ICANN CEO (Photo credit: icannphotos)
name applicants for problems arising from a computer glitch that has kept the application process closed for three weeks, according to its chief executive.
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers Chief Executive Rod Beckstrom told POLITICO on Thursday that he hopes the organization will reveal the domain applicants as well as potential new domains by the time he leaves the agency on July 1. Previously, ICANN had planned to unveil the potential new domains on April 30.
“We apologized to all applicants for the delay,” Beckstrom said. “It’s not a comfortable situation for them.”
The security bug, which led to the shutdown of the application process, is a setback for ICANN at a delicate moment. The nonprofit organization is trying to greatly expand the number of Internet domains despite some opposition.
“Our commitment is to do our best in handling this in a high-quality fashion and to put quality before speed in how we handle the issue,” Beckstrom said. “We would rather get it right than do it fast.”
Some companies and brand owners argue that by increasing the number of domains — words to the right of the “dot,” such as hotel or car — they will be forced to spend money and time protecting their brands.
When ICANN took the system offline April 12, there were 1,268 registered users, and they could apply for as many as 50 domains each.
Because of the glitch, as many as 50 applicants were potentially able to see information for about 105 applicants. The information is closely guarded by many applicants who do not want others to apply for similar words and bid up the price. ICANN is in the process of notifying applicants whose information may have been revealed as well as those who may have looked at the information. At some point, it will reopen the application system for five days.
The Association of National Advertisers recently called for an independent investigation of the ICANN application system. Beckstrom said ICANN hadn’t responded to the request, which can be pursued through ICANN’s multi-stakeholder process.
“The good news here is that we had enough security; we can see every user’s keystroke, every turning of a page,” he said. “That’s going to discourage any parties from using information they might have seen.”
Well atleast that’s what i think when i googled around a little bit. Though one can never be sure what is up with these domain name registrations.
But it looks like the game is tied to the new Avengers movie that just came out ?
“Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since.
I guess we will find out in the future. Usually these type of games are not the most fun ones. Though as the comic movies they do keep getting better and better.
Currently the domain name is not resolving.

Other highly speculative news is that Time Warner registered :
incrediblecrew.com
incrediblecrew.net
Defensive registrations ? New movie ? New whatever ? I guess the latter since i have no idea, cept that the domain names where registered by Time Warner.
Well there is no “or” to this question i guess. I am not sure if there is going to be another round of layoffs at Xerox. But i can imagine that in this financial crisis that a company would register a domain name like xeroxlayoffs.com for defensive purposes, ie to make
sure that the domain name does fall into the hands of somebody who got layed off and uses it for “other” purposes. On the otherhand there are still tons of registration variations to be left for reg fee.
Currently the domain name is not resolving and i doubt it will resolve anytime soon, atleast i hope it is. Still an odd domain name registration in my opinion.
Where is the WHOIS output.

So i am checking some stuff and i stumble on some domain name registrations from Disney Enterprises. You know the company, that back in the did all those cartoons and those sugar sweet movies with Kurt Russel.
Nothing special at all, just defensive registrations perhaps or maybe a few domain names that willbe used in some promotional way. So moving along the list and i see this domain name.
slutscore.com
First thing that popped in my head was :”Is it supposed tobe slut score or sluts core ?”. After some thought i realised this importanted question will not be answered any time soon since the domain name is not resolving.
Thought number two :”Why does a sweet sugar coated company like Disney register a domain name like slutscore.com ?”.
Well that question is not going tobe answered any time soon also. Atleast i do not expect an official statement from Disney. There is a little thing that is bugging me about this domain name registration. It mightbe nothing but checking the WHOIS records there is a tiny detail off. It’s not the registration dates, nor do you have to check the Domain Registrar being used (Melbourne IT btw). Lemme know if you spot the difference.
Seems tobe a popular topic this year. Perhaps because 2012 is supposed tobe the year
where it all ends ? Well i wouldn’t put any money on that. Sony Pictures however is neither counting on the end of the world, but it looks like they gonna make a movie about it judging the latest domain name registrations.
Have a look and be the judge yourself.
